WHAT IS THE AVANTO ACCELERATOR?
The Avanto Accelerator is a pre-startup accelerator with an arctic attitude, and a path for a person or a team interested in entrepreneurship. All its activities aim at commercialization of ideas. The goal is to advance the birth of healthy new companies and business aiming at the international level. The program is organized by the University of Oulu and The University of Applied Sciences and is funded by the EU.
WHEN AND WHEre DOES THE AVANTO TAKE PLACE?
The program takes place in the Business Kitchen premises in Linnanmaa Tellus (University of Oulu) & Kotkantie (OAMK). The next accelerator program starts October 10th 2017, but you can start your tailor-made program whenever. The workshops are held mainly on Tuesdays from 4-7pm.
WHO IS THE AVANTO ACCELERATOR FOR?
The program is open for all university connected ideas and people who are motivated and driven to build their idea into a business. The program is organized in the evenings so attendance is possible even when studying or working. Students from both universities will receive 5 ECTS upon completion of the program.
DO I NEED TO HAVE A BUSINESS IDEA TO JOIN THE AVANTO?
No, and we highly encourage you to at least come to the first workshop because you might be able to become part of a team that already has a business idea. Who knows, maybe it's exactly you that the team is looking for!
HOW DOES THE PROGRAM WORK?
The 8-week program includes workshops, coaching and mentoring. Workshops are held in the evenings usually once a week. The participants also have to work in teams outside of the the program schedule developing their startups. Our coaches will support the teams when needed. In the end of the program the participants will pitch their startups to investors in a final public demoday.

Step 3: Show your drive and initial plans in an interview with our coaches. Together we'll plan which pathway you should choose.
